This studio explores the identity of objects and how the exploration of seemingly simple forms can inspire architectural design. The first phase of this studio involved the selection and identification of an object, replication of its form, and then manipulation. A dolos is characterized by the space it creates and this inspired me to invert its form through 3D fabrication, predominantly vacuum forming. In this process, the 20’ 8-ton concrete object can be translated into an airy and light space for people to enjoy.
